Meet Cheryl: Your Neighbour and Advocate
I grew up right here in Burlington and raised my three children in this community. Between soccer games, hockey rinks with the Burlington Bulldogs and Burlington Barracudas, dance recitals, and cheering for the Burlington Bayhawks, my family has been woven into our local school and sports communities for years. From the Parent Involvement Committee to supporting our 715 Air Cadets, I’ve always believed in investing in the next generation and the places they call home.
My commitment to a better Ward 1 is backed by years of experience in municipal government and the non-profit sector. I understand how City Hall works and the vital impact local organizations have on our daily lives. As an active member of the HCDSB Human Rights and Equity Committee and past member of the Burlington Accessibility Advisory Committee, I work every day to ensure our city is inclusive, accessible, and fair for everyone.
I am ready to bring my professional expertise and community heart to the table. Let’s work together to keep our ward vibrant and supportive for all families.

My leadership is defined by transparency, responsiveness, and a proactive approach to solving local challenges, from accessible infrastructure to sustainable community growth.

Community Priorities Ward 1
I am committed to addressing the most important and impactful issues facing our community. Here is what I am focused on.
Aging in Place Safely
Continue to support and engage Older adults within our community. Burlington has an active Active Aging Plan (BAAP) which continues to respond to the growing proportion of older adults and my goal is to support and continue to engage Burlington Communities to enhance and build upon the goals of an "Age Friendly" community that is truly inclusive, accessible and supportive for all.
Accessibility
Burlington has made a Commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of age or ability, can enjoy the same opportunities as they live, work, play and visit our City. My goal is to be a voice for those who do not always feel heard or understood. I have had the privilege of being a part of the Burlington Accessibility Advisory Committee (BAAC) for over 5 years. Understanding the policy and procedure and working with City teams to continue the positive changes and developments will be an important element of my role.
Environmental Stewardship
Working with Halton Regional and Conservation partners to protect our natural heritage through sustainable development, education, and active management within our unique and diverse Environment.
Communication and Transparency
My goals include connecting and supporting local businesses and improving public spaces to foster a vibrant, connected community and open communication for all to safely participate

Focus Burlington Mayoral Debate – Thursday, October 1st, East Plains United Church (375 Plains Rd E). Meet Ward candidates at 6:30 pm, with the debate starting at 7:05 pm.

There are three, in-person advance voting locations on Oct. 17 and Oct. 20. Eligible electors can vote at any advance voting location during the advance voting period on Oct. 17 and Oct. 20.

On Voting Day, Oct. 26, 2026, there are 24 in-person voting locations, four in each ward. Eligible electors can vote at any voting location in their ward on voting day, Oct. 26.
